HURRAY PTCA!

YOU/WE ARE THE OGHS--SDOP G.O.A.T (or at least the greatest in my time on the committee): PTCA’s portion of last year’s OGHS*** offering for 2026 SDOP grants is …. [drumroll --- fireworks ---laser light show … streamers] …

$19,419.33!!!!

That’s almost twice the largest distribution in the past 10 years AND triple the amount we had budgeted for the ministry of combatting racism & economic inequality in 2025!!!!!

Hip Hip Hurray! We have truly outdone ourselves: thank you … Thank You …THANK YOU! As in the past we will receive applications for SDOP grants in June 2026 and make our final awards in November 2026, so presbytery friends & partners in community mission have the rest of winter and all of spring to seek out the grassroots organizations in our communities that might qualify for a SDOP grant later this year. Put on your thinking caps now, I expect to hear from you in the near future.

SO that said, I entreat you to look ahead to the end of Lent & the Day of Resurrection when Presbyterians & several other denominations receive the One Great Hour of Sharing offering. In the past I have challenged my colleagues in ministry to give more generously than previously --- BUT given your unparalleled generosity last year, I offer this challenge: let’s round it off to a nice round number. How about an even $20K??
